Alright, like the all the plot descriptions say the Revolution is not a site-wide plot. However, in an effort to see what kind of interest there is in it...I'm taking the liberty as a member who has always been interested in the rebellion to see who else is with me.

Aubri is the creator and writer of the Anti-Draft newsletter. I will eventually be doing a character request for the bookstore owner mentioned in her bio. I see her eventually trying to get subscribers and others who are against the Draft to band together and start a real Revolution...its going to take a lot of work, though. Especially now that the rules have become so much more strict. (Thanks for making me work for it, Lorr!)

Anyway....who's characters are with me? Ready to destroy the system? biggrin.gif

Julia's absolutely for it! She hates the Draft with a passion, and would do anything to be able to stand up and be counted in the 'real world,' and not have everything that she may or may not accomplish discarded, patronized, or otherwise condescended to just because she's a woman.

Lovely! Wives (and young widows) are a lovely asset because there are (supposedly) so few against it, but there is so much they can do while their husband is away at work. granted, they must be careful where they stray to, as he'll always be able to check up on them. Its why I created the pro-draft bookstore in my bio. Who would question their wife going there?

I don't have a lot of details to it yet, because its going to take a lot of thought to get around certain rules. But its good to know people want to participate in this plot. I'll make sure to keep this updated as things come up....and if you have any ideas feel free to share. smile.gif

Well... Rachael is very ?neutral? as far as the draft is concerned. She doesn?t know anything else, can?t imagine a good reason why someone would go against it, etc. However, she?s very meek and mild, and quite easily manipulated. I suspect she could either be made to see why it was ?bad? with enough persuasion, else, just be manipulated to do things for their cause without knowing why she was doing it. Too, the offer of friendship ?which she doesn?t have a whole lot of- could probably be a pretty decent pull to get her to cooperate.

Okay, cool. Its harder to persuade when you don't want to be turned in, but I think I'm going to try to find a way to incorporate everyone that wants to be included...and all the neutral members of society would need to be converted, in Aubri's eyes. She's up to the challenge.

On the old draft I'd started the idea of a women's book club, and the things they read were chosen by Aubri to that she could get them to read things to show what life once was, and could again be, like. However now the plot includes something about certain books being banned, so I'm not sure how well the idea will work again. But I'll come up with something.

In the meantime, I think I'm going to start a thread at the school soon, as she'll be back there awaiting her draft notice.

Hadley will eventually be interested, but it will take a little time for her. She's rebellious, but she's very private, and I think the having a group of people all doing something so illegal would frighten her a bit. So much as trouble and danger thrills her, she also like this whole security thing. I'd imagine either she falls in love with a woman who's a member or come across the bookstore or one of the members somewhere. So eventually, yes, though not right away. smile.gif

On the previous board, I had a character who was the caretaker of the Underground library. I'd love to get him out again. smile.gif

Well Amanda isn't against the draft but she isn't for it. And he rebellious thoughts are getting even louder. She isn't sure if it is a good thing or not but her eyes are slowly starting to open to how wrong the way things are run in these times.

She could start sneaking around. Finding out that she isn't alone and slowly start to turn against the draft.

Hi!

Alexander here is against the draft, but he's the kind of guy who'll suck it up and keep his head down because, uh, execution kinda sucks. He could get involved but I don't know how involved, and he definitely wouldn't be vocal about it at all.

Marcus is 100% against the Draft, and he hates the government as a whole. He used to be neutral, but after he got the job as an executioner, he began to see just how terrible the government was. So, he'd be all for a revolution-type ordeal.

Darren would most definitely be willing to help. He's a bit of a martyr and is very passionate about whatever he sets his mind to. The draft is something he's always been against since childhood and he believes the government needs to be taken down. He also is a very good writer so he'd be willing to help out with the Newsletter if needed. But yeah, I'd be willing to have him participate in any aspect needed (:

Aiden is against the draft, but too afraid to do anything. All he needs is a little bit of push or a close mate who could talk him into it.

Okay, I fail at life and briefly forgot that I made this thread, which is why I haven't replied to all of you lovely people who want to get involved. smile.gif

Hadley: Awesome! You're married to Ax, yes? Haha, that would make anyone want to Revolt. Though I'm sure being into chicks is a legit enough reason to not like this whole forced marriage thing. I'm not sure if there are any other bi/lez characters....though I've been thinking of bringing back Tasha, so if I do we should totally plot with them. smile.gif

Tillie: Really? I don't remember an Underground Library. That must have come later on after I left. Kudos to you on that, though. I know the bookclub I tried to get starting on there didn't go well. Though if you do bring him back that would rock. I bet he'd do well having a job in Declan's (the bookstore owner has a name now!) shop.

Amanda: Aubri never used to be the type to have close friends, but maybe you could change that? I checked, and they live in the same housing development. On the old site your neighbors were the ones who's house forums were next to yours...so they live two doors down from each other. Maybe they become friends and Aubri can put a few ideas into her head?

Lanie/Alex: Haha, I know Alex isn't big on the whole voicing his opinion kind of thing. If you want him to get involved maybe he can accidentally see one of the newsletters that someone left lying around...then subscribe? I eventually plan on mentioning a meeting place in one of them, but it should NOT be the one he finds lying around. Don't want any government officials showing up....

Marcus: So excited to have you on our side. As someone working for the Government you play a crucial role. Inside help is always awesome....though I know it would be next to impossible for him to get wind of other insiders with the same view. If any other government members against the draft join, he should totally strike up a friendship with them. Though keep in mind that it wouldn't come up right away...RPers knowing inside details can only go so far...Lol.

Darren: I remember reading your bio and liking it. I would love a thread with you for he and Aubri to meet in the bookstore. Maybe he can be subscribed to the newsletter already, and after talking a few times it can come up? Revolutionaries have to be careful about who they trust, even each other. Again, while the RPer knows, the characters can't right off. But i'd like him and Aubri to become close. smile.gif And once the truth comes out, help with the newsletter would be lovely. Its currently being written from a wife's POV, so having both sides is something even uber feminist Aubri would like.

Aiden: Ah the media. He is a news anchor, yes? I already told you I LOVE this character. What happened to his sister is so heart-wrenching, and the fact that he prefers men just makes it even better. If the Revolution ever gets HUGE (in the story-line, I mean...like around the time to overthrow the government once its been infiltrated) having a household name on their side is going to be insanely helpful. I dunno if Aubri would be the "close mate" to talk him into it....but now that all of you know some of the characters working towards the same cause, feel free to plot with each other.

In general for everyone: I want to talk to Lorr about getting us a headquarters to thread in. Namely the bookstore. I dunno if she'll go for it because its semi-public...but we'll see what we can do. I want to eventually have meetings, because you cant band together if you never ARE together. Again....we'll take it as it comes. In the meantime, I'm thinking of writing up the occasional article for the newsletter. I may also try to come up with a way for members to subscribe. in the meantime I'll have it in somewhere like the journals forum, but i may talk to Lorr about having it hidden. Make it tough (and fun and exciting) for the RPers as well as the characters.

Hey, I am new around here, but thought I would pipe in. Archer is against the draft and definately the soical activist type, though he had kept his head down till now to keep his mother happy. I think he would be all for getting involved in a secret group, though it would force some hard decisions on him. He is a photojournalist working with magazines so his skills may or may not come in handy. I hope this resistance comes together ^^.

Vivienne here is neutral but she does feels that something is wrong with the government and the draft. She just hasn't had any real reason to completely go against it. However, her second marriage will change that. I'm wondering if she would have known Aubri in some way. Maybe during their time at school or during the period of her first marriage. To be honest, I think having a previous relationship with her would easily sway Viv to join the resistance against the government.

Archer: That would be awesome. Again, it pays to have media on their side. And I hope it comes together too. I'd love to plot with him and Aubri. but again....everyone in here is free to plot with each other! lol. the more people they know who feel the same, the more they get a sense of security in their own views.

Alex: haha, even if he isnt vocal about his views, its nice to know he's supportive. biggrin.gif

Vivienne: Hmm. Aubri isn't really big on actual friends. However, maybe I'm just used to non-Draft Aubri. Lol, I read in your bio that vivienne actually enjoys sex....so maybe they realize that they have that in common? Haha. I'm sure not many wives do. As for previously knowing each other.....maybe they were neighbors during their first marriages?

edit: also, there is not currently a forum for the bookstore, but Lorreign did make a forum for 'other places' per my request (thanks lorr!). Any threads that would take place in the bookstore can go there. And if we start having meetings they will be in that forum as well. Meeting places may change to keep the location ambiguous. The first one will most likely be at the bookstore, though.

Ok, So, Bookstore owner here. Declan's not the bravest soul in the world but he pretty much does what Aubri says. He is also one hundred percent against the draft. Um, yeah. Ash, point him where you will. I'm open to plotting with any of you peoples (in fact, I'm gonna open up a plot thread *just* for that!) Um. Yeah. WOO. Go Ash and Viva la Revolution!!

So! Spencer here is hardly the revolutionary spirit, but her late husband was. Since his execution, she's a woman with nothing to lose - and also no outlet for her anger. I didn't put a name on what he did, but it was obviously threatening enough to be put to death over. Anyway, I just don't see her being the following type now - as she would have been perfectly content to live forever with a husband she loved. That was taken from her, and her feelings have definitely changed.

But if someone thinks their character might have a reason to seek her out, perhaps for whatever her husband was working on, that could open up a whole can of fun worms. Haha.

Even if it's just silent support, Spencer does vehemently oppose the draft and would back any sort of uprising, not including her own personal demons.
